How long have you been shooting?
I’ve been shooting for four years as a business, and prior to that I did some photography for local vintage furniture shops, random.
What is your favorite thing to photograph?
Women and newborns. I love the beauty of a woman and helping her to see that in herself. And let’s face it, there’s not much cuter than a sweet snuggly newborn! I also love personal projects filled with my own creative vision, un-related to the business side of my work.
What is a typical Friday night like for you?
Home with the family, watching movies, playing, crafting.
What color is your car?
It’s zebra striped with purple accents. Just kidding, it’s boring old white.
If you could have lunch with anyone whether they are now living or from the past who would it be?
Right now, I’d love to have lunch with Amanda Lipsey!
(Awww thanks!! I want to have lunch with you too!!!)
What is your favorite spot to dine out?
There is a Brazilian restaurant in town that has amazing food and live music on the weekends. Plus it’s a meat buffet brought right to the table, what’s better than that? (sorry vegetarians out there)
Do you have kids?
I have a 6 year old daughter and 1.5 year old son. He is a handful LOL, she is my little helper for sure.
Tell us something weird about you? Anything goes!
I was always involved in all sorts of art growing up, and photography was never even something I had considered as a career…. Not even until after graduating college with a graphic and web design degree.
What are you listening to?
Currently… my son’s toy train music. When we have music on, I usually am listening to Pandora; the Avicii station when I want more high energy music and the Dream by Priscilla Ahn station when I want more laid back and feminine music. I <3 music.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
No. I think love is something that builds between two.
Read any good books lately?
I read a lot of blogs more than books. I’ve been really into the Make It and Love It blog lately.
Do you dance in your car?
All the time! I dance while doing dishes, I dance in my seat when editing. It’s like a dang party up in here all the time. Music really feeds my soul.
Who do you find inspirational? For any area of life doesn’t have to be photography related.
My husband. He is so considerate and selfless. He loves without bounds and he inspires me to be a better person.
What is your biggest achievement?
Balancing a business and family life successfully.
Does anyone ever tell you that you look like any certain
celebrities? If so who?
I get Leah Remini from King of Queens a lot.
Have you traveled out of the country? If not where would be your dream Vacation?
Just to the Caribbean and Bahamas on a few cruises; and to Cozumel, Mexico on our honeymoon.
Please share here anything else that you want people to know about you or your business
My business is based on creating custom portraits for each individual client.
I take my time with each step of the process, from planning to finished product.
I do not take a high volume of clients and cherish working with each one of my clients on a personal level. I love it when I become friends with my clients.
